Harrison SWCD announces 2026 fish sale
The fish sale offers a variety of fish species and pond management supplies for local pond owners
The Harrison Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting orders for its 2026 fish sale, offering a variety of fish species and pond management supplies for local pond owners.
Orders must be placed by March 20, and payment must accompany the order. All sales are final.
Fish pickup will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. March 27 at 103 Firehouse Lane in Hopedale.
Officials note there will be no refunds on orders not picked up.
Customers are required to bring their own containers for transporting fish. Five-gallon buckets work well, but each must include an unscented poly liner, such as a 30-gallon trash bag, to hold oxygen and keep the fish alive during transport.
Containers should be filled one-third full with pond water, and customers are asked to assist with loading and unloading to help speed up the delivery process.
Available species include 2- to 3-inch largemouth bass at $1.50 each, 2- to 4-inch bluegill at $1.20 each and 4- to 5-inch channel catfish at 95 cents each
Other options include hybrid bluegill, redear shellcracker, black crappie and yellow perch.
Fathead minnows are available at $10 per 100 and decorative Japanese koi and white amur (grass carp) also are offered.
In addition to fish, customers may purchase a farm pond management book by Steve Fender for $20, 40-pound bags of optimal fish food for $50, and Nature’s Pond Conditioner in one- or five-gallon sizes
Orders may be mailed to Harrison SWCD, 538 North Main St., Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
To pay by card, customers may email their order to hswcd@harrisoncountyohio.org and an invoice will be sent after the deadline.
