One of the most appreciated annual events of the Christmas season is the cantata held at the Cadiz Presbyterian Church. For many years, choirs from churches throughout the area have gathered at the church to share their voices in historic and popular Christmas music. For the 2025 holiday season, the Harrison County Chorale will present the program, led by Choir Director Kay Sedgmer.

In years past, the sanctuary has been filled to near capacity, with listeners eager to hear the performance. The sound of those concerts still holds special meaning for many who have attended.

“The spirit of Christmas is alive and well in our community, and the Harrison County Chorale is delighted to invite everyone to our annual Christmas cantata,” said Melissa Crawshaw, sound technician. “You will be able to hear our presentation of Celebrate the Season by Joel Raney. Set in the heart of the holiday season, this musical presentation brings together voices and hearts for an evening filled with festive cheer and inspiration.

“Our talented choir has been preparing a beautiful program that pairs traditional carols with original songs,” Crawshaw said. “Whether you are a longtime resident or new to our town, the cantata offers an opportunity to gather with friends, family and neighbors to celebrate the joys of the season and reflect on its deeper meaning. We look forward to celebrating with you.”

The 2025 Christmas cantata will take place Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will follow the music presentation. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the music of the season.
