United Way launches Coshocton food box program
TC Energy grant funds initiative to combat food insecurity with local health partnerships.
The United Way of Coshocton announced the launch of a new food box program, made possible by a $5,000 grant from TC Energy.
This initial funding supports a collaborative effort with Muskingum Valley Health Centers and Genesis Healthcare System to address food insecurity and improve health outcomes for individuals and families in Coshocton County.
The food box program will provide access to nutritious food for community members facing food insecurity, particularly those connected to local health care providers. By integrating food access with health care partnerships, the program aims to support overall wellness and reduce barriers to healthy living.
“We are incredibly grateful to TC Energy for their investment in our community,” said Erin Slaughter, executive director of the United Way of Coshocton. “This grant allowed us to launch a program that brings together health care and human services to meet a critical need. Partnerships like this create lasting impact for the families we serve.”
TC Energy’s grant provided the foundational funding needed to establish the program while MVHC and Genesis Healthcare System play key roles in identifying needs and supporting distribution efforts.
“This collaboration demonstrates what’s possible when organizations come together with a shared goal of strengthening community health,” Slaughter said.
The United Way of Coshocton continues to work with community partners to expand access to essential resources and improve quality of life across the county.
