ServSafe Manager training set for Jan. 13 & 20; exam Jan. 27

Ohio State University Extension will offer the ServSafe Manager Food Safety Training course Tuesdays, Jan. 13 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the proctored exam Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. The ServSafe Manager series will be held at the Coshocton County Services Building. The cost of the course is $175, and the class size is limited to 15 participants. Preregistration is required at go.osu.edu/servsafe26cosh by Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The ServSafe Manager training meets Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification in Food Protection requirements by providing food safety and safe food-handling education for owners, managers and operators within the food service industry. This training enhances understanding of major food safety principles including factors leading to contamination of food, time and temperature abuse, cross-contamination, and personal hygiene.
Program participants will receive a textbook and take the National Restaurant Association ServSafe certification examination. Those successfully completing the course and passing the exam will receive Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification in Food Protection certificates.
OSU Extension also offers Person in Charge: Know and Show certification trainings upon request. Participants who complete the course will receive Ohio Department of Health Person in Charge Certification in Food Protection certificates.
