Ruck for Operation Veterans Helping Veterans set for Nov. 7 between Ridgewood and Newcomerstown
Annual 8.8-mile walk raises funds and honors service members with community support opportunities
The ninth annual Ruck for Operation Veterans Helping Veterans will be held Friday, Nov. 7, starting at Ridgewood High School and then 8.8 miles to Newcomerstown High School.
Check in at Ridgewood High School parking lot from 7:30-8:15 a.m. The ruck will then start at 9 a.m. Monetary donations will be accepted, and proceeds will support military heroes and their families.
There are several ways to support this event in addition to walking. Organizers are looking for veteran names to be sponsored “in honor of” or “in memory of” for the backs of the shirts and businesses to be gold, silver or bronze sponsors. Apparel also will be available for purchase. Shirts will be red with yellow lettering.
