River View’s Kelsie Smith surpasses 2,000 career assists in sweep of Crooksville
Lady Bears setter hits milestone as team dominates with straight-set victory.
It was a milestone night for the River View Lady Bears as they swept Crooksville in straight sets on Sept. 18 while setter Kelsie Smith surpassed 2,000 career assists.
“Kelsie has worked incredibly hard to meet this milestone,” River View head coach Rose Olinger said. “Her life is volleyball, and it shows in her play and in her accomplishments.”
The Bears controlled the match from start to finish, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-12.
Olinger continued her praise of Smith. “She’s the thermometer of our team — she sets the tempo of practices and games. A very large part of the team’s success is because of Kelsie. But aside from her play, I am continually proud of the caring young lady and leader that she has become.”
