Volley
for the Cure is a program designed to promote awareness and raise funds for
Susan G. Komen’s mission to end breast cancer. On Sept. 23 River View High
School paired up against John Glenn High School to raise money for the
cause.
“The
girls have done a great job. They put together a lot of raffle baskets. They
went out in our community and had great support from businesses," River View coach Stephanie Snyder said. "The girls on
our team brought in things, and we paired up with Teen Leadership who work at
the stands. It's hard for the girls to play the game and do the stands too.
"Also, we have a 50/50 drawing, and the TLC group is putting together Chemo Kits
for people that are going through chemotherapy. They will be able to have a goody
bag for when they go to their treatments. The proceeds from the bake sale and
everything else will go to cancer research."
The River View volleyball girls team was
excited for the game to start and excited to be a part of the fundraiser.
The River View girls are strong competitors. Junior

year. Last week she reached 2,000 assists, and she was first-team MVL and
second-team District VI her freshman year and first-team

Senior Haley Balo said she got Muskingum Valley
League honorable mention her freshman year; District VI Player of the Year,
first-team All-District, first-team MVL and third-team All-Ohio her sophomore year; and MVL Player of the Year, District VI Player of the Year and first team, second-team
