River View senior Brylie Wine named Elks Teen of the Month

Active in FFA, cheerleading, and community service, Wine plans to study nursing and sports medicine at Ohio University

Brylie Wine

Brylie Wine is River View’s Elks Teen of the Month for October. She is the daughter of Ron and Niki Wine of New Guilford.

Wine has been involved in the following activities: River View FFA for four years and the current vice president, member of the JV cheerleading basketball squad for one year and varsity for three years and is the current captain for football season, member of 4-H for five years, member of Leadership Enrichment for two years, National Honor Society for two years, Letterman’s Club for four years, Red Cross Blood Drive donor for two years, varsity track, Spirit Club for two years, three senior projects, volunteer for the Building Our Bears after-school program for five years, and a CCP college student for four years.

Her senior projects have included building benches last year out of recycled bleacher wood from the gymnasium at River View for retired teachers. One of her projects this year is assisting the athletic trainer at River View sporting events with athlete injuries using basic sideline training. Her other project is repairing the old one-room school house on the River View campus and using it to teach classes about agriculture and FFA.

Wine's community activities have included volunteering at Rock Coshocton with gates and cleanup and Adopt-a-Highway with the FFA chapter. She has worked at A-1 Vet Care in their kennels and currently works at the Corn Crib in New Castle.

Upon graduation she plans to attend Ohio University to pursue a major in nursing with a focus on trauma care and sports medicine. Then she plans to pursue a career with a medical Air Evac organization as well as part-time work as an athletic trainer.
