Ridgewood softball clinches walk-off win
Lady Generals rally in ninth inning to defeat West Muskingum 7-6
Ridgewood High School's varsity softball team rallied late and capitalized on a key miscue to earn a 7-6 walk-off victory over West Muskingum in nine innings.
Trailing entering the bottom of the ninth, the Lady Generals pushed across two runs to seal the win. With two outs and the bases loaded, Jayden Jaras hit a ground ball to shortstop, but an errant throw to second base allowed both runners to score, lifting Ridgewood to the comeback victory.
Jaras played a pivotal role all game, leading Ridgewood with three hits and three RBIs. Britt Bates also turned in a big performance at the plate, collecting three hits including a home run and a double.
Ridgewood improved to 18-5 on the season with the win while West Muskingum fell to 14-8.
In the circle Addison Lahmers got the win in relief working four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. Jaras started the game, giving up three runs without allowing a hit but issuing seven walks.
