High school softball teams earn seeds
Lady Generals to face Edison or Claymont in Division V East District Tournament May 18
The Ridgewood Lady Generals varsity softball team earned the No. 3 seed in the Division V East District Tournament. Ridgewood will play the winner of No. 4 Edison and No. 7 Claymont Monday, May 18 at home.
Tusky Valley earned the No. 1 seed and will play in the lower bracket.
The Div. V tournament will send two teams to the regionals. Ridgewood and No. 2 Martins Ferry and No. 4 Edison will battle it out with Claymont, West Muskingum and Fairless for the upper bracket district title.
Coshocton is the No. 10 seed and will play at No. 6 Sandy Valley in the lower bracket Monday, May 11. The winner will play No. 8 Barnesville with the higher seed hosting.
River View is the No. 9 seed in Div. IV. The Lady Bears will travel to No. 8 Minerva Tuesday, May 12. The winner will meet either No. 1 seed Beaver Local or No. 15 Philo.
John Glenn was seeded second, followed by No. 3 Meadowbrook, No. 4 Harrison Central and No. 5 West Holmes.
Indian Valley was seeded seventh and will play at No. 6 Carrollton.
The East District also will send two teams to the regional tournament in Div. IV.
