Ridgewood recognizes October Students of the Month across grades 8–12

Ridgewood celebrated its Student of the Month recipients from October.
Brady MillerSubmitted
The Eighth Grade Student of the Month was Brady Miller. He is being recognized as an all-around student who shows pride in his work and is always respectful and focused. He is the son of Kirsty and Heath Miller.
At Ridgewood he is involved in football and track. He is often training for sports outside of school. This year he is looking forward to track season starting. He loves the kind atmosphere at Ridgewood. One piece of advice he would give to other students is hard work pays off. He would like to thank his coaches for making him a better athlete and a better person. His future plans are to be a lineman.

The Ninth Grade Student of the Month is Grace Burns. She is being recognized for her kindness and hard work. She is always willing to help out her classmates and has artistic talents. She is the daughter of Valerie Kyser. This year she is looking forward to getting all A’s. She loves her teachers at Ridgewood including Mr. Neal, Mrs. Dobbins, Mrs. Landis, Mrs. Bryan, Mrs. Dickerson and Mr. Humphrey.
Burns' advice to other students is be kind to each other. Her future plan is to go to the career center for culinary arts.

The 10th Grade Student of the Month is Zared Taylor. He is being recognized for his focus and responsibility. He is a go-to resource for those around him who need help, and he is always willing to lend a hand to classmates.

He is the son of Rachel and Holden Border. At school he is involved in wrestling and track. He is looking forward to the start of wrestling season. He loves the coaches and staff at Ridgewood. His advice to other students is to be yourself. He would like to thank his grandma for always supporting him. He plans on going to college for a bachelor's degree to become an electrical engineer.
Taylor HahnSubmitted
The 11th Grade Student of the Month is Taylor Hahn. She is being recognized for her kindness and reliability. She is considerate of others, diligent in her work and always wearing a smile. She is the daughter of Travis and Myndee Hahn.
In school she is involved in TI, varsity basketball, FFA and the livestock judging team. Outside of school she travels to different states showing her sheep and goats at the state and national levels. She raises and manages over 100 goats at TayRae Farm with her family.
She is looking forward to the upcoming basketball season. She loves how all the teachers at Ridgewood are willing to help students with whatever they need. The advice she gives to other students is don't be afraid to go your own way. You don't always have to follow what everyone else does. She would like to thank her parents for their support. She plans to attend college to become a veterinarian.
Wade ThompsonSubmitted
The 12th Grade Student of the Month is Wade Thompson. He is being recognized for his hard work and community-mindedness. He shows his commitment to others through raising money for scholarships and following through on tasks. He is the son of Denise and Tommy Thompson. At school he is involved in golf and is vice president of FFA. In FFA he is involved in parliamentary procedures, job interview and poultry judging.
Outside of school Thompson is in CCYL, president of Extreme Achievers 4-H, vice president of the junior fair board, and chair and co-founder of the Austin Yoder Memorial Scholarship. This year he is looking forward to FFA competitions and making it to state to leave a lasting impact on the FFA chapter.
At Ridgewood he loves how kind the staff is. His advice to other students is enjoy it while you can. He would like to thank his mom, who has been with him through thick and thin and helped him get involved in his activities. He plans to attend OSU ATI and OSU and major in agro-science and minor in law to then either go to veterinary school or go to law school.
