Ridgewood girls golf makes history with sectional title, league honors
Brynn Harstine named IVC Player of the Year as Lady Generals win first Division II sectional championship in school history
Ridgewood sophomore golfer Brynn Harstine was named Player of the Year for the Inter Valley Conference, and Coach of the Year was Ridgewood’s Amy Lott.
Ridgewood senior golfers Jacey Hess and Josie Stanton were selected to the first team for the league along with Harstine. Sophomore Zoe Martin was named to the second team, and senior Ava Rauh-Hill received honorable mention.
The Lady Generals then went on to win the Division II Sectionals at Zanesville Jaycees on Sept. 23. They made school history by being the first Ridgewood girls golf team to win sectionals. They won with a team score of 343, and par was 71.
Harstine was medalist of the tournament with a 71. She had four birdies, Zoe Martin had two birdies and Josie Stanton had one birdie.
Scoring for the Lady Generals were Harstine with 71, Stanton with 87, Hess with 90, Martin with 95 and Rauh-Hill with 121.
The top four teams moving on to districts are Ridgewood with 343, Fort Frye with 366, Meadowbrook with 406 and River View with 418.
