Health district continues its community mini-series
Cardiology nurse practitioner Jason Bryant discusses access to care in Coshocton County.
The Coshocton Public Health District is continuing its community mini-series called Access to Care.
Access to care affects health at every stage of life. This mini-series explores how health care services are delivered in Coshocton County and the factors that shape access for individuals and families.
The goal is to increase awareness, share local perspectives and strengthen understanding of how access to care impacts community health.
The latest provider to be featured is Jason Bryant, cardiology nurse practitioner at Genesis Heart and Vascular Group. He can be called at 740-623-4481.
He was motivated to practice medicine in Coshocton County because it's his hometown.
"I feel like I can connect better with my patients and gain their trust," Bryant said.
He encourages residents to get consistent follow-up care, ask for help finding a provider if needed, don't change medication without consulting a provider, stay active and be open with your provider.
"While Genesis is actively seeking additional primary care and specialty care in our county, access can be limited," Bryant said. "Find a provider that may offer telehealth services or even remote monitoring of things like blood pressure or glucose levels. This can help minimize the travel and time in appointments."
