Colton Gress fired a 66 and Gavin Gress shot a 69 to help lead River View to the MVL Preseason Tournament title Aug. 5 at Jaycees Golf Course in Zanesville. Clark Frischen carded a 74 and Caleb Kline followed with an 82 to complete the Bears' foursome.
Colton Gress' 66 tied brother Gavin' s 18-hole record of 5 under par.
The Bears outpaced the field with a score of 291, followed by Maysville at 302 and Sheridan at 315. Coshocton finished 11th with a round of 421.
River View' s 291 total was 11 strokes better than runner-up Maysville. West Muskingum (330), John Glenn (331), New Lexington (357), Tri-Valley (364), Crooksville (375), Meadowbrook, Morgan (406), Coshocton (421) and Philo (443) rounded out the 12-team field.
