The grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Coshocton Ice Skating Rink will be held Friday, Nov. 14 at 4:30 p.m. on Court Square. Light refreshments will be served, and the community is invited for a skating experience.

The ice skating rink will be open Fridays from 5-9 p.m., Saturdays from 3-9 p.m. and Sundays from 1-6 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for age 5-17, and free for age 4 and under. Seniors age 60 and over, military, and first responders are $6. This is the cost for an hour of skating. Skate rental is $2.

Mary Beck, administrator/project manager with the Coshocton County Commissioners, said, “We are incredibly grateful to the Coshocton Foundation for their generous grant that made it possible to bring an ice skating rink and building to our community. This exciting addition to our downtown is a wonderful opportunity for both residents and visitors to enjoy the season in Coshocton.”

Beck also asked that the community be patient, as this is the first year for the skating rink and everyone is learning and looking for ways to improve.

“We hope that all who visit will help us keep the rink in excellent condition so it can be enjoyed for years to come,” Beck said.

She also said cameras have been installed to help deter vandalism.

“We truly value community feedback and would love to hear what you think of the rink, as well as any ideas you have for enhancing the experience of everyone,” Beck said.

All the funds raised from the operation of the rink will be set aside for maintenance and upkeep of the rink.

“Depending on the success of this year, we also hope to allocate some funds toward the ongoing care of Skip’s Landing,” Beck said.

Private parties can be held during normal operation hours. Call the Coshocton County Commissioners Office at 740-622-1753 for information or to book a party.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to the rink and can’t wait to see our community come together to make lasting memories on the ice,” Beck said.
