Business and Professional Women Region 3 held its meeting on Zoom Feb. 28. Members represented were from Coshocton, Guernsey and Noble counties and Zanesville.
BPW Region 3 will send two members who will compete at the State Individual Development and Young Careerist competitions Saturday, April 11 in Columbus at the Northwest Library.

To qualify to speak, you must have taken the 13 modules of the Individual Development Program in the past three years. The ID representative will be Shelly Klein from the Coshocton BPW, who spoke on grief. She gave a five-minute prepared speech, was given a two-minute impromptu question and was interviewed.
To qualify for the Young Careerist Program, you must live or work in your community, have worked in your chosen field for at least one year, and be between the age of 21 and 35. The YC representative will be Bailey Bowman, also from Coshocton BPW, with the speech topic, “How Can a YC Participant Use Her Experience in the YC Program To Enhance/Change Her Life or Influence Others?”
Bowman is an intake specialist and communications intern at Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio. She produces informative content for a 36-county service area to expand access to justice. She is responsible for the intake process for Franklin County, where she completes intakes for families facing eviction, domestic violence and inhabitable conditions, among other legal issues.
Bowman, a River View graduate, has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English from Haverford College, where she graduated with cum laude honors.
Coshocton BPW is open to both women and men, employed or unemployed, in the local community. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. the third Monday at various locations with service projects, social activities, opportunities for civic participation, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Opportunities for engagement include local, state and national participation in the organization.
