The Bakersville Market will wrap up its season with a family-orientated fall festival on Friday, Oct. 3.
From 6-9 p.m. the community is invited to come enjoy more vendors and food trucks than normal, pumpkin painting, live music, a petting zoo, face painting, trick-or-treating, bounce houses, hayrides, and other activities at Bakersville Community Park, 59505 County Road 2, Newcomerstown.
“Our first market was held in June 2024 as a way to make local produce and goods more easily available to the Bakersville community,” said Marissa Kerr, market manager. “It quickly turned into more than just a farmers market, but a great family Friday night event for the community."
The Bakersville Market is held the first Friday of the month June through October and features an average of 15 vendors.
“In addition to our local makers, bakers and growers, we have kids activities, face painting, food trucks, eat stands that benefit local clubs and organizations, live music and more,” Kerr said. “With the market taking place only once a month, not only are we able to bring a nice selection of local makers, bakers and growers to the community, but we are able to offer additional family activities and resources. The market truly is a community celebration that people look forward to five months out of the year.”

“It is hard for me to choose just one favorite from our market, but I would have to say the overall community atmosphere. Bakersville is a hidden gem itself, and the market truly brings it to life,” Kerr said. “Watching families come and spend the evening having dinner, shopping, kids playing and enjoying the company of others, the joy of our patrons enjoying the evening and spending quality time at the market — it's more than a quick stop after a busy week. It's an event people make plans to attend. We already have big plans for our 2026 season.”
