The Ohio High School Athletic Association held its draw on Oct. 5 for the upcoming boys and girls soccer postseason tournaments.

Here’s where Wooster-area teams landed:

Boys

Wooster headed into the past week 9-4 overall, still bouncing back from back-to-back tough losses to Granville and Madison. The Generals will face Walsh Jesuit on Oct. 11 to end the regular season.

With one more loss on that record, the Generals were voted into the No. 13 seed in the Northeast Ohio Division II super-district, which contains 33 teams. After a first-round bye in sectional play, Wooster will start with a district semifinal match at home against Stow-Munroe Falls on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. The winner will play in a district final Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. at Byers Field in Parma, almost assuredly against No. 6 Walsh Jesuit.

The top seeds in the entire field went to Avon (9-2-3), Avon Lake (11-1-2), Broadview Heights (8-1-2) and Twinsburg (9-2-2).

Triway was 8-6 at the time of the draw and was voted the 19th seed in the monstrous Div. IV 39-team super-district field. The Titans have a winnable game to start things off, facing No. 20 Ashtabula Edgewood (7-2-4) in a district semifinal Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Jack Miller Field in Shreve. The winner will play in the district final Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., almost certainly against No. 1 Bay (11-2-1) at a site to be determined. The top seeds in addition to Bay are Chagrin Falls (13-1), Poland Seminary (10-0-4) and Mentor Lake Catholic (9-1-3).

Girls

Wooster has put together a solid season, finishing 3-2-2 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference. Despite a strong 8-4-2 record at the time of the vote, Wooster was seeded 17th in the super-district voting among Northeast Ohio’s Div. II squads. The Lady Generals did not get a first-round bye but will host their opener. No. 23 North Olmsted (1-9-3) will come to town to face Wooster Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. The winner will play Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at No. 5 Avon (8-4-2) in a district semifinal. The district final will be Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at Carter Stadium in Eastlake. The top four teams are Hudson (12-0-1), North Royalton (10-0-1), Highland (11-1-2) and Twinsburg (9-1-2).

Playing in a huge small-school super-district, Triway (6-5-3) was voted the 23rd seed among 42 Div. V teams from throughout Northeast Ohio. The Lady Titans will face St. Thomas Aquinas in a first-round game Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Jack Miller Field. The winner will most likely move on to play No. 1 seed Chippewa (13-1) in a district semifinal Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. with the district final on Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at Magnificat High School in Rocky River. In addition to the Lady Chipps, the top seeds are Warren JFK (11-2), Norwayne (10-3) and Bristol (13-0-1).
