Revive Wayne County, an ongoing group from across the county, gathered for training and outreach March 7.
At least 17 churches across Wayne County were represented by about 50 people who participated as Pastor Keith Byler of the host church — Fairlawn Mennonite near Apple Creek — taught and coached a way to share the good news of joining life with Jesus Christ, according to Revive Wayne leaders.
Seven teams then deployed for midday activities around the county, seeking natural conversations and sending reports to an eighth team engaged in prayer for the requests these conversations generated.
At least 10 pastors from nine churches participated.
Revive Wayne is an ongoing group of believers in a range of church congregations whose faith is in Jesus Christ and who have a focus on revival and renewal across Wayne County.
These activities are an outflow of last year’s revival focus that received guidance from Revive Ohio, according to leaders of a core group that is continuing to seek involvement in Revive Wayne.
The group is reaching out to churches, pastors, prior participants, businesses and individuals, responding to Jesus’ commands in Scripture that emphasize unity in Christ's church and his command to make disciples and teach them. The focus includes opportunities for outreach, worship, Gospel training and discipleship growth through participation and service within local congregations across Wayne County.
