Anderson named Wayne County deputy health commissioner
He will continue serving as environmental health director
The Wayne County Board of Health promoted Vaughn Anderson, MS, REHS, to deputy health commissioner at its May 21 regular meeting.
Anderson has been the environmental health director for the Wayne County Health Department since March 2011. He will retain that role with the department in addition to his new position.
As deputy health commissioner, Anderson will support the health commissioner by overseeing day-to-day operations when the health commissioner is unavailable and working on projects with the health commissioner.
“Vaughn has a dedication and work ethic that is second to none," said Nick Cascarelli, Wayne County health commissioner. "He has served this community for the past 15 years faithfully, and the health department as an agency is committed to succession planning with excellent employees."
Anderson has 20 years of public health experience. Before joining the Wayne County Health Department, he served as the epidemiologist for the Holmes County General Health District from 2006-11.
