Orrville Public Library hosts teen and youth book clubs, opens Book Box registration
Teens and young readers invited to November meetings and personalized reading program at Orrville library
Reading is more than just picking up a typical book. Teens in sixth grade through 12th grade who enjoy news articles, graphic novels or manga are invited to the Orrville Public Library to share their current reads with other teens.
The Teen Book Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. No registration is required.
Registration has begun for the Orrville Public Library’s next Youth Book Club, which will be Thursday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. “Legends of Lotus Island: The Guardian Test” by Christina Soontornvat follows Plum as she is accepted into the Guardian Academy, where she learns to communicate with animals and develop her magic skills. Books are available at the children’s desk.
Registration can be completed on the library’s website calendar at www.orrville.lib.oh.us or by calling the children’s department at 330-683-1065.
The club will not meet in December. The book selected for the Jan. 15 meeting is “One Wrong Step” by Jennifer A. Nielsen.
Teens also may participate in the next Book Box program. By answering a few questions, Orrville Public Library staff will create a personalized box of reading materials that includes treats and trinkets. The Book Box program is open to students in sixth grade through 12th grade.
Registration for the Book Box program will begin Nov. 17 and conclude Nov. 29. The program is offered every other month, and registration must be completed for each session. Registration can be completed on the library’s website calendar or by calling the information desk.
Reserved Book Boxes will be available for pickup the week of Dec. 8.
