OneEighty and Buehler’s team up to provide holiday meals and grocery bundles
Community donations supply essentials and Christmas dinners for local treatment centers, shelter and transitional housing programs
Just as the holiday season brings families, friends and neighbors together to celebrate connections, local businesses often come together to support the communities they serve. One of OneEighty’s partnerships is the nonprofit’s long-standing collaboration with Buehler’s Fresh Foods.
During the holidays community members can help OneEighty provide meals to its residents while supporting a local, employee-owned grocery store. There are two grocery bundles and a full holiday meal to choose from during the event, which will run until the end of the year. Donations help to ensure families OneEighty serves have nutritious meals and holiday comfort.
The $50 basic bundle includes milk, cheese, eggs, bread, butter, jelly, peanut butter, fruit and toilet paper. The $100 essentials bundle includes all items above plus chicken, hamburger, hot dogs, deli meat, vegetables, buns, Kleenex, paper towels and Ziploc bags.
The community also can purchase a Christmas dinner. These dinners will provide holiday meals for the Women’s Residential Treatment Center, Men’s Treatment Center (Pathway), the Emergency Shelter and the transitional house. Christmas dinner is $150 and includes turkey, ham, potatoes, vegetables, fruit, rolls, juice and dessert.
The bundle partnership was created as a community opportunity for giving for Buy Local Saturday (Nov. 29) and GivingTuesday (Dec. 2). During that time five basic bundles and five essential bundles were purchased, providing 51 meals. Additionally, four Christmas dinners have been donated thus far.
There are several ways to purchase: visit form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/oneeighty/buehlers-grocery-bundles; drop off cash or a check at OneEighty’s main office, 104 Spink St., Wooster; or buy a bundle at Buehler’s Milltown, 3540 Burbank Road, Wooster.
“We are honored that OneEighty invited us to partner with them in this unique opportunity to serve our community,” said Jennifer Hudson, director of marketing at Buehler’s Fresh Foods.
