New Wooster art gallery opens to inspire creativity and education

William Gallery and MJ Studios aim to nurture young artists and strengthen Wooster’s arts community through exhibits, mentoring and hands-on learning opportunities

William Gallery and MJ Studios have opened in downtown Wooster, offering a new art space where owner Mike Jackson combines decades of experience to support local artists and students.

William Gallery and MJ Studios Inc., located at 242 S. Market St. in Wooster, opened their doors Friday, Sept. 12 with an evening celebration consisting of music, food and community support for owner Mike Jackson’s fine arts gallery.

The mission of William Gallery LLC and MJ Studios Inc. is to provide an art studio and gallery to foster the arts in Wooster and to provide guidance and support, enhancing art education to local high school and college students.

Jackson has 22 years of experience in industrial design and prototyping, over 30 years as a painter/fine artist, and over 10 years curating gallery spaces.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment.
