Do you or someone you know struggle with having enough food? Food Fellowship Ministry can help with that.
Started by a local family and friends, FFM has grown to serve over 900 families in Wayne County, representing more than 2,300 people each month. Food is obtained from the Akron-Canton Food Bank, the Harvest Call Distribution Center and other food banks. Through donations the organization also has been able to purchase additional food. On the third Saturday of the month, food is delivered to participants’ doorsteps by volunteers. Sign up by calling or texting a name, address and family size to 330-641-9008.
This program is made possible with a team of volunteers. The Friday afternoon of delivery week finds people utilizing the warehouse of a Wooster-area business to assemble boxes (usually more than 825) for the next day’s delivery. On Saturday morning volunteers begin placing food into the prepared family-sized boxes for drivers to pick up and deliver to people throughout Wayne County.
Those who are food-needy, would like to make a tax-deductible donation or would like to volunteer may call 330-641-9008. Whether assembling boxes, filling boxes or delivering food, volunteering typically involves three to four hours a month.
