Fall fun guide: Where to find pumpkin patches, hayrides and corn mazes across Northeast Ohio

Is getting scared not your thing? Fall still can be. While the area may not lead the nation in fall festivals and other autumn rituals, there’s definitely no shortage of them.

For most in this area and even those within 50 miles, it starts with Ramseyer Farms Fall Festival, the bar-setter on state Route 585 between Smithville and Wooster.

Ramseyer Farms Fall Festival, Wooster

4000 Ramseyer Lane, Wooster, just south of Smithville on state Route 505.

Dates: Through October.

Hours: Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1-7 p.m.

Tickets: $21, seniors $11.

Attractions: Corn maze, country store, food trucks, pumpkin patch, games, slides, corn chutes, jump pads, hay rides and more.

Bauman Orchards, Rittman

161 Rittman Ave., Rittman, just west of Metzger Avenue on the left.

Dates: Open daily except Sunday with Fall Festival Oct. 4.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets: Admission free.

Parking: At Rittman High School, 50 Saurer St. Free shuttle.

Attractions: U-pick apples, hayrides, homemade apple cider doughnuts, trucker hat bar.

Nickajack Farms Fall Festival, North Lawrence

2955 Manchester Ave. NW, North Lawrence, about 5 miles south of state Route 21 on state Route 93.

Dates: Through Halloween.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets: $17 with age 2 and under free. Pony rides $6, Saturday and Sunday only.

Attractions: Pumpkin Days with more than 70 activities including wagon rides, a corn maze, pony rides, barnyard animals, slides, playsets, a straw maze and more.

Beriswill Farms Corn Maze, Valley City

2200 Station Road, Valley City, about 1 mile south of state Route 303 on Station Road.

Dates: Through Halloween.

Hours: Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets: Weekends $8 (includes mazes and north pasture area), $7 play area only on weekends, and free for age 2 and under and seniors. Groups of 15 or more $7 per person. All $1 less on weekdays.

Attractions: Corn maze and farm market.

Brasee’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, Wellington

18421 state Route 58, Wellington, about 3 miles north of the center of Wellington.

Dates: Friday through Sunday through Oct. 26.

Hours: Fridays from 4-10 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets: $6 (age 5 and up), $5 seniors, and free for age 4 and under with a paid adult, up to two children.

Attractions: Haunted Hayride on Oct. 18 from 7-11 p.m. Cost is $15 and includes hayride and corn maze. Hayrides Friday through Sunday, $4 per person.

Pumpkin Village at Mapleside Farms, Brunswick

294 Pearl Road, Brunswick, about 2 miles north of the center of Brunswick on Pearl Road (state Route 42).

Dates: Friday through Sunday (themed festivals with roaming characters Saturday and Sunday only) through Oct. 26.

Hours: Fridays from 4-9 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets: $15-$18, available online.

Weekend themes: Oct. 4-5, Wild Wild West; Oct. 10-12, Superheroes; Oct. 18-19, The Great Pumpkin; and Oct. 25-26, Spooky Fest.

Attractions: Live entertainment, Cow and Pig Trains, the 311-foot Super Slide, giant jump pillows, Billy Goat Bluff, Haytona 500 Pedal Car Race, and the giant Laney Wilson-themed corn maze.

Szalay’s Farm Corn Maze, Peninsula

4563 Riverview Road, Peninsula, located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Dates: Through Holloween.

Hours: Daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets: $6 for the maze and free for age 3 and under.

Attractions: Scenic drive with fall foliage on the way to the corn maze, which now features a trip through the spinning barn, as well as pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, critter corn, local honey, maple syrup, home-grown apples and fresh-pressed cider.

Dates: Fall harvest festivals Thursdays through Mondays through Nov. 1.

Hours: Noon to 7 p.m.

Attractions: Winery and craft brewery on-site, wagon rides, corn maze, pumpkins, and duck races.
