Community partners unite to share overdose prevention resources across Wayne County
Overdose is one of the leading causes of death for people age 18-45 in the United States, with 80,391 overdose deaths in 2024. Overdose Awareness Day is observed annually on Aug. 31 to create a better understanding of overdose, reduce the stigma of substance-related deaths and create change that reduces the harms associated with substance use.
Wayne County Coalitions is partnering with OneEighty and other community partners to provide resources across the county. Information tables will be at the following locations on Friday, Aug. 29:
—OneEighty from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
—Orrville YMCA from 9-11 a.m.
—The Server (Rittman) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
—Wayne County Creston Branch Library from 2-4 p.m.
—Wayne County Rittman Branch Library from 2-4 p.m.
—Wayne County Shreve Branch Library from 2-4 p.m.
—Wayne County Wooster Branch Library from noon to 4 p.m.
