Tech Expo empowers attendees with tools for greater independence

Event hosted by Medina and Summit County DD boards highlights innovations supporting accessibility and inclusion

The Interactive Tech Expo at Summit Mall showcased the latest assistive technologies, drawing more than 700 attendees to explore tools that promote independence and inclusion for people with disabilities.

The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities, in partnership with the Summit County DD Board and We Thrive Together, hosted its annual Interactive Tech Expo on Sept. 25 at Summit Mall.

The free event highlighted the latest assistive technologies designed to empower, inspire and support inclusion and independence for people with disabilities and limited mobility.

With more than 700 attendees, the expo featured over 45 exhibitors demonstrating adaptive devices, communication aids and mobility solutions. Guests had the chance to test products and connect directly with companies and specialists.

“The response to this year’s expo was incredible,” said Connie Jack, MCBDD assistive technology specialist. “Technology meets the needs of people with disabilities and limited mobility, helping them discover solutions that can significantly improve their daily lives and foster greater independence.”

Jack added that the success of the event underscores the importance of expanding access to innovations that break down barriers and improve quality of life. Organizers plan to bring the expo back next year.
