Pickleball ambassador brings fast-growing sport to Root Middle School

Medina’s Carol Erickson teaches students key skills and inspires excitement during PE classes

Pickleball ambassador Carol Erickson visited Root Middle School on Sept. 5 to teach students the fundamentals of the fast-growing sport.

On Sept. 5, Root Middle School welcomed Carol Erickson, a Medina resident and ambassador for the USA Pickleball Association. Erickson spent the day with students, sharing her expertise and enthusiasm for the sport.

She taught lessons to six classes led by physical education teacher Melanie Condosta and five classes led by Cory Reisner. During the sessions, Erickson introduced students to skills including volleying, serving and scoring.

Students enjoyed engaging in the activities and learning from an experienced ambassador of the sport. The visit provided a fun and educational experience, sparking interest in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
