Medina County District Library offers computer and tech classes this fall

The Medina County District Library is offering a series of free fall programs to help residents strengthen computer skills, learn about devices and apps, and explore digital tools such as Canva and makerspace equipment.

The Medina County District Library is rolling out more than a dozen opportunities this fall for residents to brush up on computer skills or learn new ones.

Camp Wired will run every Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Medina Library, giving participants a chance to learn or refresh computer and software skills with instructor Sherri. No registration is required, and topics vary weekly.

Additional tech classes, led by instructor Pieri, are scheduled across library branches. The Medina Library will host sessions on Microsoft Excel (Sept. 10), online scams and internet safety (Oct. 15), and internet browsers (Nov. 12). At the Lodi branch, classes include Windows II features and customizing (Sept. 17) and Apple iPhone apps (Nov. 19). The Brunswick Library will offer Android device apps (Sept. 18) and online scam safety (Oct. 9).

The Medina branch will also hold digital lab and makerspace demonstrations, including Cricut and mug press equipment on Oct. 6, and Betamax tapes, vinyl records and audio cassettes on Nov. 10. A special session on Canva, the online graphic design tool, is set for Oct. 27, while a program on preserving digital memories using the 3-2-1 backup system will be held Nov. 4.

Most programs require registration at mcdl.info/TechnologyEvents.
