Medina County District Library announces fall lineup of book clubs and writing events

The Medina County District Library’s fall schedule features book clubs, writing workshops, and the Oct. 4 Medina Book Fest, offering readers and writers opportunities to connect, create and celebrate stories.

The Medina County District Library will host a full schedule of book and writing events this fall, giving readers and writers opportunities to connect, create and celebrate stories.

The season begins Sept. 10 with a Book Club Celebration at the Medina Library at 6:30 p.m., featuring a showcase of new Book Club Bags for 2026 and the launch of the I Love Book Club Challenge, which runs through Oct. 31.

For readers who enjoy a quieter pace, the Quiet Cozy Reading Club will meet Sept. 11, Oct. 9 and Nov. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lodi Library. Participants can bring their own books, enjoy a warm drink, and settle into a cozy reading spot. In Seville, the library will host a Book Luncheon Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Historic Seville Inn, where librarian Mary Olson will share upcoming book picks.

Writers will find inspiration through MCDL’s Writers Series. The Plot Twist Critique Group, hosted by local author Kris Renee, will meet virtually Sept. 18, Oct. 16 and Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. to share feedback and discuss the writing craft.

The highlight of the fall is the Medina Book Fest, set for Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Medina Library. The event includes writing and marketing workshops, sessions on self-publishing, one-on-one opportunities with a literary agent, a book swap, and a marketplace of local authors.

The series wraps up Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Medina Library with Rut-Busting for Writers, a high-energy event led by Story Wars that encourages creativity and performance.
