MCDL Expands Tech Training, Job Support and Adult Education for Winter
Libraries offer computer classes, ESOL groups, makerspace demos and GED testing across multiple branches
The library is offering a wide range of winter technology classes, job-seeker resources, and adult education programs across its branches.

Residents looking to build digital skills or pursue adult education will find a broad range of offerings this winter at Medina County District Library branches, including computer classes, ESOL groups, makerspace demos and GED testing.
At the Medina Library, Camp Wired meets every Thursday at 10:30 a.m., giving adults a chance to learn or brush up on computer programs with instructor Sherri. No registration is required, and attendees may call ahead for weekly topics. Sessions will not be held Dec. 25, Jan. 1 or Feb. 5.
The Medina branch will also host Digital Lab & Makerspace Demos on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. Upcoming sessions include digitizing slides and negatives on Jan. 5 and a laser engraver demonstration on Feb. 2. Registration is available at mcdl.info/TechnologyEvents.
Additional tech classes taught by Pieri will be offered at several locations this winter. Lodi Library will host online shopping and safety on Dec. 10, iPhone basics and customization on Jan. 21, and Android basics and customization on Feb. 18, all at 6:30 p.m. Medina will offer internet browsers and bookmarks on Dec. 17, Microsoft Word documents and editing on Jan. 14, and Windows 11 features on Feb. 11, also at 6:30 p.m. Brunswick Library will hold “Let’s Talk Google” on Dec. 18 and Windows 11 features on Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. Registration is required for all classes.
Adult education opportunities are also available through Project: LEARN. ESOL classes help adults develop English language skills and are offered at multiple locations; participants can call 330-723-1314 for details and registration. ESOL Conversation Groups will meet at the Brunswick branch Dec. 2 and 16, Jan. 6 and 20, and Feb. 3 and 17 at 1 p.m., with a Zoom option available. Registration is available at mcdl.info/ESOL.
Job seekers can attend the OhioMeansJobs Job Fair at the Medina Library on Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will feature employers from across Medina County, and attendees are encouraged to bring a résumé and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews. Adult Basic Education classes help learners prepare for the GED test or build reading, writing and math skills. Pearson VUE GED testing will be offered at the Medina Library on Dec. 17, Jan. 28 and Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information is available at mcdl.info/GED.
