Fall art shows fill Medina County District Libraries with color, craft and history
From rainbows to needlework, vintage jewelry to quilts, the Medina County District Library will showcase a wide range of art exhibits this fall across several of its branches.
At the Medina Library’s B. Smith Gallery, the Women in Art group will present “Beyond the Rainbow” Sept. 2-28, exploring the colors of the spectrum in new and creative ways. A reception will be held Sept. 7 from 2-4 p.m. The gallery will then host The PerSisters Oct. 6-Nov. 2 with “A Path Forward,” featuring art that addresses pressing issues and conflicting ideas. From Nov. 10-Dec. 7, the Cuyahoga Valley Area Plein Air Painters will present “Interpretations,” an exhibit exploring how artists view and emotionally connect to landscapes.
The Brunswick Library will host the 42nd Annual Medina Needlework Guild Show Sept. 13-14, with entries accepted Sept. 11. The juried event includes a junior category for participants 18 and under.
At Highland Library, visitors can view a collection of vintage buttons from the Buckeye State Button Society Sept. 8-30, with a special talk on antique button collecting set for Sept. 30. The Honey Bee Quilters will display their vibrant work Sept. 21-Oct. 16, while “Vintage Vanities” will showcase patriotic and sweetheart jewelry of the World War II era Nov. 4-26.
MCDL also operates galleries at its Lodi branch, offering opportunities for local artists to exhibit their work. For more information or details on how to display art, visit mcdl.info/art or email art@mcdl.info.
