The Dog Days of Summer celebration on Aug. 23 at the Medina County Dog Shelter will feature family activities, food, live entertainment, and adoptable dogs, all to support the shelter’s mission.

Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at the Dog Days of Summer celebration, hosted by the Medina County Dog Shelter. This fun-filled, family-friendly event takes place Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and promises a day packed with activities, entertainment — and of course, adoptable dogs.
Whether you’re a devoted dog lover, considering adding a furry friend to your family, or just looking for a fun Saturday outing, this event is for you.
Highlights include face painting for kids, a “Fill the Truck” donation drive to support the shelter, and music by streaming internet radio personality the Tye Dye Guy from WIXY 1260 online. Guests can also pick up positive reinforcement training tips from the pros at Pawsitivity Unleashed NEOH, sample treats from Barkin’ Biscuits Dog Bakery, and meet local dog rescues. Shelter staff will serve hot dogs, chips and drinks by donation, with proceeds benefiting the shelter.
