United Way of Knox County has officially launched its 2025 Fundraising Campaign, calling on local residents, businesses, and organizations to come together in support of vital community programs. Each year, United Way partners with a network of nonprofit agencies to provide critical funding that strengthens Knox County through education, healthy living, and financial stability initiatives.
In 2025, local nonprofit agencies submitted funding requests totaling more than $916,000. United Way was able to distribute $641,000 to meet urgent community needs. Looking ahead, United Way has set a campaign goal of $1.1 million, which includes $650,000 designated for direct investment in agencies such as the Salvation Army, YMCA Mount Vernon, Knox County Head Start, and many others. A full list of funded programs is available at www.uwayknox.org/programs-we-support.
United Way’s funding supports programs and agencies through their community pillars:
• Education – Preparing children for success through early literacy, academic intervention, and life-skill development.
• Healthy Living – Promoting lifelong wellness and preventative care, creating a healthier community and reducing chronic conditions.
• Financial Stability – Providing both aid and education to help individuals build stability and move toward independence.
The annual fall campaign fuels this work by raising local funds for local programs. The effort is powered by two primary donor bases: workplace campaigns with employee and corporate giving, and individual contributions from community members. To meet the current needs of the county, United Way has set a target of raising $650,000 by Dec. 31, 2025, ensuring that agencies across Knox County will continue to have the resources needed throughout 2026.
Community members are encouraged to take part by contributing through their workplace campaign, making an individual donation, or learning more about how United Way dollars are invested locally. To make a direct contribution, visit www.uwayknox.org/donate-now.
