Three MVNU standouts earn AVCA All-Region honors
Brown named Regional Freshman of the Year as Maloney and Nuss join her on the First Team after dominant seasons for the Lady Cougars
Mount Vernon Nazarene University's Evelyn Brown was named Regional Freshman of the Year and earned first-team honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's
volleyball team had three players, Evelyn Brown, Faith Maloney and Reagan Nuss, recognized by the American
Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for their outstanding performances on the
court this season.
MVNU competes in the
Northcentral Region of the AVCA. Across the nine regions, 14
student-athletes are selected to the All-Region Team, and
eight additional players earn honorable mention recognition.
Brown was named the Regional
Freshman of the Year and earned First Team honors after a phenomenal debut
season. She was also selected as the Crossroads League Freshman of the Year. In
her first collegiate campaign, Brown totaled 350 kills while hitting an
impressive .417. She added 81 total blocks.
Senior middle hitter Maloney was also named to the First
Team after a standout season. She posted a career-high 366 kills as a
senior with a .225 hit percentage, bringing her career total to
1,108. Defensively, she added 181 digs and 64 blocks.
Finally, setter Nuss earned First Team
honors, rounding out MVNU's impressive group of regional award recipients. Nuss
totaled 1,234 assists this season, along with 88
kills and a .321 hitting percentage. Defensively, the senior
collected 351 digs, averaging 2.79 digs per set. Over the course of
her career, Nuss compiled an outstanding 3,994 assists.
