Glassblower Buchholz earns Kudos’ September Artist of the Month honor
Public reception Sept. 18 in Mount Vernon will spotlight Aaron Buchholz’s seasonal glass creations and creative process
As autumn sweeps into central Ohio, vibrant colors aren’t limited to the trees — they also shine through the molten art of glassblower Aaron Buchholz, who has been named Kudos’ Artist of the Month for September.
Buchholz, a skilled glass artist known for his intricate craftsmanship and vivid palette, will be featured during a public reception Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Kudos, an artist cooperative located at 10 S. Main St., Mount Vernon.
Guests will have a chance to meet Buchholz, explore his glowing collection of seasonal and decorative glasswork, and hear him speak about his creative process during an artist talk at 7 p.m.
“Aaron’s work is as luminous as it is diverse,” Kudos organizers said. “From functional bowls and vases to whimsical pieces like bees and fish, and seasonal items like pumpkins in every size and color, each creation showcases his mastery of the medium.”
Among his most recognizable works are his glass ball ornaments, popular year-round but especially sought after during the fall and winter seasons. This time of year, however, it's Buchholz's stunning collection of handblown pumpkins that takes center stage — gleaming gourds that reflect the rich tones and textures of autumn.
