ECHO to perform at winter coffee house series
First Congregational UCC event to benefit Doctors Without Borders
The First Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 200 North Main St. is hosting a winter coffee house series.
The opening event is Sunday, Jan. 25, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The second event is scheduled for Feb. 22.
The first event will benefit Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières. MSF brings critical medical care to people affected by conflict, disasters, epidemics, and social exclusion in over 70 countrie saround the world. MSF addresses three critical health care needs including access to healthcare in remote and underserved areas, urgent treatment of malnutrition, and infections disease treatment and prevention.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. There will be an open mic sign up from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The featured artists group Echo will take the stage at 7:45 p.m.
Echo is a trio consisting of Chris Petee, Jeff Putnam and Heather Petee. All three are veterans of the music scene in Knox County and each has over 25 years of experience performing solo and in various groups. Their voices blend in three-part harmonies and solo work highlighting folk and soft rock selections from the 1960’s, ‘70’s and ‘80’s with a full set consisting of the music of Peter, Paul and Mary.
