Your soul was bought at the cross

Angela Chapman shares a spiritual poem exploring themes of divine protection and eternal salvation

Jesus ... how precious and sweet to say,

The name above all who is the way.

No force of evil can undermine

The strength of God and his design.

The king of glory is the lion of Judah.

His army is mighty in the land of Beulah.

Strongholds are broken by our mighty God.

Who can come against his saints where they trod?

The enemy devises evil to destroy.

God is in front with his plan to decoy.

Although there’s many who come against God’s people,

A plan has already been fulfilled from God’s holy steeple.

There are no eyes above where God sees.

He watches and hears his children’s pleas.

The enemy is swift on foot in war,

But Jesus on the cross ... the veil he tore.

Defeated foes are God’s enemies.

It’s by the blood of Jesus that Satan flees.

The blood is powerful with a covenant pact.

No enemy can cross, no matter what vicious attack.

The trumpet of God will sound soon.

Listen for the heavenly tune.

The world in its ruckus is out of control.

Politics and wealth are now for the heart’s console.

The Lord will gather his people home,

To the clouds where his children will roam.

Left behind, unbelievers will be,

To face the worst brutality.

Like Noah that day with the built ark,

Unbelievers perished; to God’s word they didn’t hark.

The flood came as said, and they were warned.

They didn’t heed, but instead mocked and scorned.

A flood no more, God did say.

Next time a fire will be the way.

Repent. This word in the Bible is used.

It’s God’s word and not to be refused.

The rains came and still the wicked denied

Their heavenly Father, as they were full of pride.

They chose disobedience to their creator.

They were given their choice, and death came later.

Now, a beautiful rainbow as God’s promise he put in the sky,

A covenant for all flesh and Earth; no more destroyed by a flood they’d die.

God’s final judgment will come on the Earth someday; by fire this time will be destroyed.

Have you received Jesus’ gift of forgiveness, or are worldly pleasures more being enjoyed?

An eternal home with Jesus is better than what we can ever imagine.

By placing your faith and trust in him, your eternal place will be a mansion.

If you are waiting and thinking that you have time for all of this to do,

It’s not a wise decision; when do any of us know when our life on Earth is through?

God is loving, just and sovereign with love for you more than you know.

Jesus’ cross of Calvary is where we’re forgiven and where one must go.

Don’t seal your fate with a choice of a blinded response.

Repent to Jesus; ask forgiveness, for your soul was bought at the cross.
