Wooster Music Club holds March meeting
The Wooster Music Club met March 4 at Wooster United Methodist Church with Co-presidents Kathy Helmuth and Louie Miller presiding.
Pastor Daron Butler started off the performance segment of the meeting by singing several cowboy songs as he accompanied himself on guitar. Club members were invited to sing along with “Whoopie Ti-Yi-Yo,” “Cattle Call,” “Back in the Saddle” and “Happy Trails.”
Stephanie Musselman then played two Beatles tunes on the piano — “In My Life and “I Will,” both by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Next on the program was a string trio consisting of Mike Deyo (violin), Merry Gentry (violin) and Linda Hershberger-Kirk (cello) playing “Trio Sonata Op. 2, No. 2” by George F Handel.
Hope Long, the final performance of the evening, played “Fantasy-Piece” by R Schumann, Op. 73, No. 1, on clarinet.
The Wooster Music Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month from September through May, except for January and February. The meetings are held in Wesley Hall of the Wooster United Methodist Church, and guests are welcome to attend.
