WCH announces state grant for PAEC construction
Wooster Community Hospital has been awarded $1 million from the State of Ohio in support of the hospital’s recently launched Patient Access and Emergency Center capital campaign. Angela Rincon, WCH director of philanthropy, learned of the award in a call with Ohio Sen. Al Landis.
Landis and Wayne County Commissioners Jonathan Hofstetter, Sue Smail and Ron Amstutz visited the hospital on March 12 for a tour of the current emergency department, Women’s Pavilion, Cancer Center and Cardiovascular Institute. The Philanthropy Office presented the grant request for $1 million at the end of Landis’ visit.
The PAEC project will encompass a new emergency department, a new main hospital entrance and relocation of key hospital departments. It will incorporate evidence-based design and best practices to provide a more comfortable emergency room experience for patients and families while improving the flow by which patients, outpatients and visitors move within the hospital from the moment they arrive.
For more information call Rincon at 330-263-8701 or visit the WCH website at weblink.donorperfect.com/PAEC_Capital_Campaign.
