Walnut Hills Retirement Community recently honored six longtime team members for their service to the organization’s residents and families. The team members were recognized at a catered luncheon held at Wallhouse Hotel in Walnut Creek.

Teresa Yoder of Sugarcreek led the group recognized for service. Yoder has worked at Walnut Hills for 25 years.

Others who received 2024 Walnut Hills Service Awards included Cheryl Keim of Strasburg for 15 years of service; Betty Miller of Sugarcreek for 10 years of service; and Teresea Morris of Millersburg, Rhoda Yoder of New Philadelphia and Tiana Yoder of Loudonville, all for five years.

When honoring the service award recipients, supervisors and fellow team members described the recipients as kind, honest, trustworthy, professional, empathetic, friendly, knowledgeable, happy, fun, reliable, hardworking, genuine, easygoing, strong and creative.

Honorees also were recognized for being a great encourager, a good listener, a great mentor, a great example of how even small acts of kindness can have a big impact on the well-being of residents and more.

Walnut Hills is a nonprofit continuing care living community that employs 140 team members and is home to 220 individuals age 55 and over.

The 110-acre campus on Olde Pump Street in Walnut Creek offers independent living homes, catered living apartments, assisted living suites, skilled nursing care, and inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
