TOPS Nashville members reminded to stay healthy during fair season
Group recognizes Geneva Pringle and Lana Rush for weight-loss success; program highlights whole white wheat and brain-boosting puzzles.
On Sept. 24, TOPS OH1573 Nashville had a no-gainer.
Geneva Pringle was the best weekly and monthly loser. She said to watch what you eat at the Loudonville Street Fair and drink water.
Lana Rush was the best weekly and monthly KOPS.
The “Don’t Feed the Shark Contest" continues.
Pringle’s program came from an article in TOPS News titled “What Is Whole White Wheat?” Whole white wheat looks like refined wheat but is, in fact, the whole grain, retaining all its nutrients, fiber and health benefits. White wheat does not need much sugar because the grain has lower amounts of the strong, bitter-tasting polyphenolic compounds and tannins that are plentiful in red wheat. She also read puzzles boost brainpower.
The club meets at the Nashville Global Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-in at 5 p.m. The first meeting is free.
