The Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum announces opening date

The 2025 season at the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum began April 3 and will run until Nov. 22. Regular tours will be offered on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

Step back in time and experience the age of steam with guides who will immerse you in the sights, sounds and smells of the roundhouse from the 20th century.

Additionally, the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum will host events throughout the 2025 season as follows:

—May 10: Yard Tour.

—May 17: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—June 6: Family Tours begin.

—June 13-14: Steam to Victory.

—June 21: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—July 11-12: Railcar Rally.

—July 20: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—Aug. 2: Touch a Truck, Touch a Train.

—Aug. 19: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—Aug. 30: Family Tours end.

—Sept. 13: Yard Tour.

—Sept. 20: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—Sept. 26-27: Fall Steam Festival.

—Oct. 11: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—Oct. 17-18 and 24-25: Lantern Tours.

—Nov. 15: Ferroequinologist Tour.

—Nov. 22: tours end.

—Dec. 13: Santa Comes to the Roundhouse.

Join at the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum as a volunteer and help preserve the legacy of railroad history. Training for volunteers is provided. Currently, they are seeking volunteers to assist with restoration projects in the back shop, as well as those interested in serving as tour guides.
