Weekly Blessing

Since you believe in Jesus

Angela Chapman’s reflection urges believers to trust God through every season, seek prayer, show Christlike love and share the ‘good news’ with others

When life seems compounding and God seems so far.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills and believe God, here you are.

You’ve never left, and I believe that too,

Even when days are bleak and blue.

When seen all around the sadness and many hurts,

And news of the day comes with many red alerts,

It’s time for that prayer closet to enter in.

Praying to the Lord will give peace within.

I can think on much that’s sad along with my past as well.

But that will only make worse those fiery darts from hell.

If you feel all your stuff is reminding you of your failings,

We can instead remember our Savior, who speaks peace to all derailings.

Going through seasons is a part of life’s uncertainties,

But when you trust in God, he brings you through each one with graceful ease.

Not knowing what’s next can be daunting,

But knowing God knows is faithful trusting.

“Now to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (II Timothy 1:7).

The most important thing is to know Jesus in your daily life walk.

He is all that matters; let him be in your words when you talk.

When you make prayer to Jesus your first choice,

There’s no room for doubt to make its noise.

Jesus overcame the world and said, ”Be of good cheer.”

He told of things that would happen before his return here.

Encourage one another while it is still called day.

God is the potter, and we are all clay.

Let’s treat each other with respect; it’s not hard to do.

Let’s not look for flaws but instead for Jesus shining through.

Let’s redeem the time by doing all we possibly can,

Telling the world about Jesus — that he’s not just a man.

Let’s be vessels for Jesus as we continue this race.

By sharing the “good news” in every single place.

Now times may get tough, but we have each other to lean on.

As we pray for one another, we give all the glory to God.

This is how, as Christians, we do; it’s called showing the love of Christ.

It’s what our Father desires for us to love one another without fights.

Let’s pursue peace with each other everywhere.

Can we be faithful friends who sincerely care?

Let’s speak truth as we desire to love more like Jesus.

With no schemes ever because that’s not how Jesus treats us.

As our day ends with our talk with the Lord,

We’re reminded of the grace he poured over us.

His ears are always open to an “asking forgiveness” plea,

“Never separated from God,” said Jesus, since you believe in me.
