Secure in Christ's love

Poem reflects on faith, resilience and trust amid spiritual challenges

Today and tomorrow, we're not promised anything,

But to trust in the only, forever, reigning king.

The enemy stepped out and made his debut,

But the Lord has the last say over his words that spew.

The enemy's words are meant to tear down and destroy,

But the Lord came to give life and for us to enjoy.

The enemy is a trickster with an evil scheme,

But the Lord is our God, whose name is Elohim.

The Lord will always be the head over all principalities.

Our God is awesome; he's the prince of peace.

Jesus is the light in our day.

He goes before us — come what may.

Floods may come when the enemy attacks,

But the truth is what the enemy lacks.

The spirit of the Lord raises a standard against him.

The enemy can't see; his eyes are dim.

Only God's children, true believers in Christ,

Are freed from bondage by God's glorious light.

Held by the one who paid for my sin,

Secure in Christ's love that lives within.
