Ruritan Club summer events, food trailer repairs discussed
The Tusky Valley Ruritan Club met Tuesday, June 17 for its monthly dinner meeting at the Warren Township Community Center in New Cumberland. Ten members were in attendance. Volunteers at the center served a chicken thigh dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed salad, dressing, green beans, bread and butter, and pumpkin crunch cake for dessert.
The club heard a report on window and roof issues in its food trailer used at the Bolivar Strawberry Festival. Members discussed options for getting the problems fixed.
The club also discussed providing the food trailer for the upcoming Jo Brown Auction in Zoar June 28. President Randie McRobie will finalize the work schedule.
Members were reminded of the upcoming Twist on Mineral City celebration July 12, when the club will host the mouse game. Member Amy Burrier will organize the work schedule.
Next month’s meeting will be the annual ladies night steak fry at the Tusky Valley Senior Center in the Tusky Valley Administrative Building on the school campus July 15 at 6 p.m. The club’s annual Citizen of the Year will be presented at that time.
