The Rotary Club of Bolivar and Zoar will hold its annual shred day and eRecycling event Saturday, April 12 from 9-11 a.m. in the Ohio Billing parking lot, 10911 state Route 212, Bolivar.
“We have been holding this event for over six years,” said Jon Elsasser, treasurer of the Rotary Club. “Individuals can bring their documents to be shredded. They can be in boxes or bags. There is no limit on how many boxes or bags of paper or documents is brought per person. The cost is $5 per box, banker’s box, and size 12.5-by-10.5-by-16.31 or smaller. The document shredding is safe, secure and is provided by Sanmandy Enterprises of Creston, Ohio.”
He said the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department will offer an over-the-counter drug drop-off at the site and will collect expired or unneeded medications.
“This year eCycle Solutions of North Canton will be on-site to provide electronics and e-waste recycling services. There will be no charge except for fluorescent lightbulbs, compact fluorescent lightbulbs, dehumidifiers, CRT monitors, dorm and wine refrigerators, window air conditioners, and flat-screen televisions,” Elsasser said.
Large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers, and household batteries, which include AA, AAA, C, D, 9V and button, are not accepted at this event.
Elsasser said the Rotary Club built a picnic shelter at the corner of Dover-Zoar and Towpath roads, has supplied items to the Tuscarawas Valley High School speech and debate teams, and restored a portion of a house in Zoar. Every October the club sponsors a health check day at the Army Navy Club in Bolivar.
The Rotary Club has been in existence since 2007 and is always seeking new members. Elsasser and Lisa Geers are coordinating the event.
The event is sponsored by Ohio Billing EMS and Fire Billings Solutions, The Commercial and Savings Bank, and Canal Tavern of Zoar.
