Porter, Rush lead monthly TOPS Nashville honors
On Aug. 27, TOPS OH1573 Nashville opened with pledges.
Gaye Keller and Geneva Pringle tied for best weekly loser. Keller said to log food. Pringle said to eat leafy vegetables.
Bonnie Porter was the best monthly loser.
Lana Rush was the best weekly and monthly KOPS.
The Don’t Feed the Shark contest continues.
Leo Tope presented a program from TOPS News from an article titled “Together We’re Better.” Building social bonds helps protect health. Socially connected people tend to live longer. While nutritious food and exercise help people stay healthy, research shows social connections also are essential to health. Tips for social connecting are volunteering, helping others, staying in touch with family and teaching a favorite skill.
The club meets at the Nashville Global Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-in at 5 p.m. The first meeting is free.
