It is with great sadness that I type the following message. OhioSportsTicket.com will cease to be a part of our AloNovus family as of Aug. 1.

After a lengthy internal discussion about the direction our company is hoping to take and the lack of financial backing for the area sports website, we have made the decision to discontinue OhioSportsTicket.com. The website, which has had a rabid following by area sports enthusiasts for the better part of the past decade, will no longer be operable.

Over the past seven years those of us who have been involved with creating and providing content for The Ticket have immensely enjoyed the opportunity to bring the amazing accomplishments of our area athletes into your lives. We have witnessed some incredible athletic accomplishments and expressions of sportsmanship by both individuals and teams. It has been an honor to share the inspirational efforts of athletes, teams and coaches who have made such a powerful commitment to honing and perfecting their craft.

Our goal from day one was to give our student-athletes the recognition they deserve. We believe we have done that to the very best of our ability. We have not only written stories, but also shared game footage videos, done Ticket TV in which we sat down and chatted with players and coaches, and recorded podcasts. We provided large and free photo galleries that allowed anyone to log on to our website and download all the photos they wanted for free.
