The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced the 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award and Young Professional ATHENA Award will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 18.
These awards honor individuals who embody the spirit of the ATHENA mission: supporting, developing and honoring women leaders while inspiring all to achieve their full potential and create balance in leadership worldwide.
The chamber invites the public and local organizations to help identify and nominate outstanding leaders in the community.
About the awards
The ATHENA Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence in their business or profession, devote time and energy to improving the quality of life in their community, and actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.
Past recipients of the ATHENA Leadership Award include Kimberly Sayers (2024), Lynn Moomaw (2023), Sara Patton (2022), Becky Foster (2020/2021) and Alicia Wallace (2019).
The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award celebrates emerging leaders who exemplify excellence and promote the ATHENA mission.
Past Young Professional recipients include Ashley Hershberger (2024), Dee Black (2023), Samira Zimmerly (2022), Kim Hall (2020/2021) and Sarah Baker (2019).
Administered by ATHENA International, a global nonprofit organization, the ATHENA Awards have honored over 7,000 leaders in 500-plus communities worldwide since 1982.
Nominations are now open for both award categories and are due by Aug. 8. To submit a nomination, visit the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce website at www.orrvillechamber.com/events/athena.
Award recipients will be selected by a panel of Wayne County leaders based on the outlined criteria.
The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce invites the entire community to take part. Dinner location and award recipients will be announced later this summer.
